End of Season Workday September 10th E-mail
Sadly, the lazy days spent at the pool are quickly coming to an end for the year.  Time to trade the crystal clear water of the Exchange Pool for football and bonfires.
We need about 10 members to help pack up and close the pool for the season.  If you still need to earn some volunteer hours want to pitch in  please click here to let our Volunteer Coordinator, Vickie Atkinson know.   We plan to meet at the pool on Saturday, September 10 at 8:00.  With enough helping hands, we should be done before 2:00.
Even if you have already earned your $250, you can volunteer to help simply because you love the pool and want lend a hand. Remember, this is your pool,  Give of your time freely so that we can continue to enjoy the pool for many years to come.
Please remember: No more than $250 credit per season will be given per family membership.

Umstead Drive Construction Project E-mail

Access to the pool via Village Drive is open and a much better choice than the MLK end of Umstead.  It is paved the entire way to the pool via this access.  Umstead Drive the Estes Drive Extension is sometimes accessible and sometimes blocked by enourmous dirt digging machines.

Follow this link for more information about the details of the construction.  Thank you in advance for your patience!

Directions to Village Drive:

Turn onto Village Drive from Estes Drive Extension, next to the RR tracks, .25 miles west of the Saewell School Road.

Follow Village Drive to the stop sign.

Turn Right on Umstead Drive

Turn Right into the pool

Shower before Swimming - Please!!! E-mail

You can make a big difference to the water quality by showering before you swim!

Help our pool keep up with all the demands on it's water quality.  Between copious amounts of sundblock and a high volume of swimmers we need to use all the tools in our water quality kit.  A quick rinse off before jumping in reduces the cracker crumbs and playground pebbles floating in the water and gives our filtering system a helping hand!

Member Comment at Board Meetings E-mail

We want give you an opportunity to offer your feedback (both positive and constructive!) to the board and so we have added to our board meeting agenda a Member Comment time slot.  All we ask is that you sign up

Our next meeting will be 7:00pm, Monday, September 5,  at the pool.  This is the General Membership meeting and the election of officers for the 2012 season will be held. Pick up a ballot at the front desk if you can't make it. Contact the board if you have something to share. The board meeting time & place will vary so check back for the date, time & place of future meetings.

Thanks for participating in the pool - active & caring members is what makes the Exchange Pool great.

Volunteering At Exchange E-mail

Volunteering is a great way to earn back some of the Exchange membership dues and a big thank you goes out to everyone who has volunteered to date....you folks are awesome!  The pool couldn't have opened without you.

We still have opportunities for volunteering, especially at Social Events and our Social Coordinator, Claudia Sheppard wants to hear from you.  Use our new Wiki sign up for events. - The Wiki has a lot of information about events.  Also learn more about volunteering in the the volunteer section of the website, too and Contact Claudia if you have questions.

Thank you so much for all of the hard work...this cooperative ethic is what really makes the Exchange Pool special.

Currently memberships are available on the membership bulletin board. Please check our Membership Basics page for information on how to join the Exchange Pool and check the membership bulletin board for available memberships.  Contact the membership coordinator by email with questions or if you want to post your name on the online membership bulletin board.  We also have an old fashioned push pin bulletin board to post your info once the pool has opened for the season.

IMPORTANT TIPS

Sellers - You do not need to find (or even know) your certificate number.

Buyers - If you buy from someone not on the list posted ON THE WEB - contact the membership coordinator before you finalize the transaction to make sure the account you are buying is in good standing (not in arrears). Do not skip this step!
